Brighten Up Your Day With Guitar Lessons
51Playing a musical instrument, in particular the guitar, is a major part of many people’s lives. Ok, maybe it’s not a full-time job or an extreme hobby, but there’s a certain freedom in being able to enjoy playing the guitar, or any other instrument for that matter. Maybe you have dreams of playing guitar in front of a huge crowd, or you just want to be able to play a long with your favourite songs in the comfort of your own home.
The best way to accomplish these dreams is to pay for one-to-one guitar lessons or scheduling to learn to play guitar from your home via online lessons. Both of these methods will match you up with experienced professionals who have spent their fair share of time enjoying the instrument, gaining experience and mastering advanced techniques.
Learning the guitar without the instruction of a qualified tutor can make it seem very difficult, if not impossible. A desire to play the guitar simply isn’t enough if you’re not able to read the sheet music and produce the sounds required.
Learning in a live session
Face-to-face guitar lessons are by far the most popular option, but did you know they are not the only option available for learning the guitar? There are plenty of sites available on the internet that focus on teaching both eager beginners and experienced guitarists to play the guitar through easy to follow video guitar lessons, forum posts and message boards. Internet video tutorials are usually overlooked and dismissed as worthless, but they can be just as effective and useful as a traditional tutor, without the associated costs of one-to-one tutoring.
Is face-to-face the best?
Unlike their online counterpart, private guitar tutors provide a face-to-face method of education that you may not get using Video guitar lessons, but that certainly doesn’t mean they are the best way to learn. Many individuals that opt for private guitar lessons will later give it up along the way because they cannot learn at their own pace or leisure, and costs are prohibitive. Students can be rushed, meaning they are unable to master the skills effectively. Learning online allows the students to move at a pace they are comfortable with and learn guitar tabs according to their own learning curve. What may be crammed into a week of private sessions may require two months for a student to truly master.
What happens when you need help
Because the internet lacks the personal communication between student and instructor you may believe it’s harder to find the right solutions to problems that arise. Online guitar lessons are great, but when you begin having problems who can you turn to for assistance? You can’t turn to a tutor because your only tutor is a video on the web. In this situation your best option is to seek out a forum or message board to try and find the answers.
Message boards can be the solution to many problems that pop up over the course of learning the guitar. Most sites that offer guitar video tutorials offer message boards and forums that address your concerns and offer invaluable tips. You can post your problems or search for similar ones that have already been addressed. After posting your question you just need to wait for a short while before other individuals post their answers. Answers on the internet can come from many sources and not all can be trusted, but most are truly helpful.
With online learning, when you have an issue the community is there to help and whether it’s a simple finger positioning problem or a complex tab issue, you can get your problem solved both quickly and effectively. You never know who’s on the guitar forums just waiting to help you out, there may even be a private guitar tutor willing to advise; oh the irony.
